Where did 2014 go?!?

Well, it’s been a sufficient amount of time since my last post, so I guess I can try this whole blog thing again…

The last year was beyond amazing for me and my little business.  The support from my community and from across the US has been felt and it has moved me! I had no idea my little pie dreams would come true. So, we’re going to do it all over again this year!  In the coming months The Mile Pie Club will return and I am excited to report that the community kitchen is almost open and I will be calling that my new kitchen!!!  I can’t wait to work with other small businesses in the space, what a great idea, a community kitchen! 🙂

I’m also thinking about doing some crowd funding so The Cake Farmer can grow and get a new van (fingers crossed).  And maybe even find an acre around the Johns Island area for myself.  I’m currently about to break ground on two friends’ lots but the lots are about 20 miles away from one another… there could be worse things, so I feel blessed. One lot is on Johns Island and my farm co-apprentice, Stephen, is going to help me figure this whole farming the lowcountry during the summer thing. Woo hoo!  The other lot is downtown near a cute park and should be ready once the rain subsides.  Less than 30 days to Spring!!! And I am SO ready for spring.  Its been miserable the last few weeks here in Charleston… yep, I am complaining about cold weather and rain.  But we have been fortunate enough to miss out on blizzards and ice so I really shouldn’t be complaining. I’m just not a winter person.

Big news that has come about quite recently…  The wonderful folks who host Pecha Kucha Night are back and hosting on March 6, 2015 for Food + Wine Festival!! And they asked ME (!) to speak!! What an honor! I’m getting so excited and a tiny bit nervous… Tickets are still on sale if you want to come root me on! 🙂

I think I’m starting to get the hang of this blog.  Until next time…

Cheers!
